The first visit is a step down the road toward better health and well-being. Congratulations for taking care of yourself! During this time I will learn about your health history and current issues, take your pulses, clear any toxicity to your energy, and give you a treatment that will bring you to a better state of balance. This will all take about 2 hours. By the end of the treatment you should feel relaxed and more present. And, that you are in good hands.
Subsequent treatments are one hour. How often you need to come depends on the duration and severity of your illness or condition, your lifestyle and other factors that are contributing to it. Initially, treatments are given once a week and then spread out further as healing progress is made. Each treatment plan is unique to the patient.
Once your health is regained a program of maintenance is decided upon. It is recommended that patients come in for periodic tune-ups. The pulses can often reveal if anything is going wrong even before it manifests as symptoms. Seasonal tune-ups can keep us in alignment with Nature and with ourselves.
In addition to doing acupuncture with needles, I can also do five-element acupuncture without them. It is possible to use essential oils on the acupuncture points and achieve the same results. This is greatly beneficial to children, the elderly, and anyone who has an aversion to needles.
Sometimes we just need to relax. A half-hour treatment with essential oils on a few points, some nice relaxing music and you will settle into a deep relaxation. Aaahhh, feels good.
